Makiko follows the philosophy found in Traditional Chinese Medicine, the art and science of healing that treats the mind, body and spirit to restore balance and overall well-being.
Makiko recognises that a person’s state of health often reflects on their skin, including facial lines, expressions, and blemishes. She believes that the face is the window to our inner wellbeing and that expensive skincare products may not be sufficient as they only address surface-level issues. Instead, she emphasises the importance of deeper activating treatments that can hydrate the skin at a cellular level, release fascia adhesions, and reshape the tissue.
Makiko is specialising in advanced cosmetic acupuncture. With over a decade of experience in a variety of physical therapies, she understands how soft tissues can influence the appearance of the skin, such as expression lines and asymmetry of the face, and tightness in the jaw. Makiko combines acupuncture needles and advance massage techniques to release adhesions of scars promoting normal movement of the facial muscles. This approach results in a more relaxed appearance, a healthier complexion, and fewer fine lines.
Makiko strongly believes that each person is unique and requires individualised treatments based on their current state. Her approach encompasses a combination of facial acupuncture, body and ear acupuncture, sculpting massage and LED light therapy.
